this is the city last night. let's get the latest from lawrence karnow. >> cold enough out there that i think we are going to see some snow. the sun comes up and it looks like snow across our mountains. it should be interesting this morning as we have some cold temperatures in place and showers beginning to sag a little bit further to the south right now. you can see it on our high-def doppler radar. some of that moisture really south of the golden gate bridge and becoming more widely scattered and i think that will be the case throughout the morning. still, you can see some pockets of moderate amounts of rainfall. you can see that along the 580 near dublin seeing good rainfall there maybe some more snow across the mountains too. snow level down to about 2500 feet. look at that. you can see all that cold air and low, you get an idea of the circulation as the system sags to the south. once it moves by the low will drag the moisture with it. we'll dry out in the afternoon. the temperatures very chilly in spots. 33

the caution tape blocked the sidewalk in front of the city heights condo complex. this is on west saint james street at north san pedro in downtown san jose. it appears as if a woman, a 24- year-old woman, fell from a balcony here at this condo complex at around 3:00 this morning. we're not sure exactly which floor she fell from. we have heard the 8th floor. we've also heard the 11th floor. but you can see there are some balconies there on the side of the building. police believe that this was just an accident, that she had accidentally fell. some people had reported hearing some partying up there and then calling police saying that they heard a loud thud. so again, police don't believe foul play is involved even though there were some other people on the balcony with her. they say the coroner will continue this investigation. that's what we have now live at the scene in san jose. anne makovec, kpix 5. >>> it is developing story with law officers down in southern california on high alert this morning. the manhunt for the former l.a. police officer accused in three
